We admitted our first students to the Ph.D. in Mathematics in 2014 and currently have twenty eight registered Ph.D. scholars. Their research has encompassed diverse fields such as graph theory, complex networks, algebraic number theory, differential geometry, Lie algebras, harmonic analysis, matrix analysis, disease modeling and machine learning. This reflects the research interests of our faculty, which cover wide areas of pure and applied mathematics.

Some sample areas where we are particularly interested in recruiting research students during 2022-23 are given below. However, exceptional candidates are encouraged to apply for other areas as well.

  • Cryptography
  • Algebraic Topology
  • Integer Partitions
  • Differential Geometry
  • Machine Learning
  • Data Analytics and Medical Imaging
  • Complex Networks
  • Mathematical Modelling
