Research Interests

Computational Fluid Dynamics, Finite Volume Method, Fluid-Structure Interaction (FSI) problems

Most freely available CFD codes do not  support coupling between arbitrary 6DOF solid and fluid motion. The closest available code that match this need is OpenFoam, a C++ library which supports fluid flow past prescribed motion (not solved motion). Motion solver  supported in OpenFoam supports only small amplitude motion (motion for which mesh topology is maintained). Also, current version of openFoam supports only loosely coupled solid-fluid interaction. We are working on, starting from the recently released Overset structure in OpenFoam, developing a code for large amplitude sixdof motion which can be tightly coupled with OpenFoam overset flow solvers. Highly modular code structure of OpenFoam allow easy integration of new features.
